The Gospel of Christ—the Only Gospel—is ABOUT GOD’S GOVERNMENT

The Word of God says,

“I can’t believe your fickleness—how easily you have turned traitor to him who called you by the grace of Christ by embracing a variant message! It is not a minor variation, you know; it is completely other, an alien message, a no-message, a lie about God. Those who are provoking this agitation among you are turning the Message of Christ on its head. Let me be blunt: If one of us—even if an angel from heaven!—were to preach something other than what we preached originally, let him be cursed. I said it once; I’ll say it again: If anyone, regardless of reputation or credentials, preaches something other than what you received originally, let him be cursed.

Do you think I speak this strongly in order to manipulate crowds? Or curry favor with God? Or get popular applause? If my goal was popularity, I wouldn’t bother being Christ’s slave.” (Galatians 1:6-10, The Message).

The Gospel (or GREAT NEW) of the Kingdom (GOVERNMENT) on earth as it is in heaven is to be proclaimed in the world.

Hopefully today or by now you know that the TRUE Gospel is called the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. It always has been.

It is not …

  • The Gospel of Salvation
  • The Gospel of Grace
  • The Gospel of Prosperity
  • The Gospel of the Death, Burial, & Resurrection
  • And believe it or not it is not called The Gospel of Christ

It’s not any other gospel either.

NOW, do NOT get me wrong. All of these are PART of the Gospel, or what has become to be known as “the FULL Gospel.” But the KINGDOM is the main focus. Jesus does not tell us to seek FIRST salvation. God does not tell us to seek first prosperity, or seek first healing, or to seek first anything else. We are to seek first the KINGDOM of God.

Any other INCOMPLETE version of the Gospel of the Kingdom is only PART of the truth. You have to preach the WHOLE WORD as Paul said, both “in season and out of season.” You can’t just pick and choose the parts that tickle your ears and make you feel good.

And for the other extreme or for those in the other camp you can’t just pick all the damnation parts to condemn the other camp for having their ears tickled. It is still the GOSPEL or GOOD (or GREAT) NEWS of God’s Government. It’s not about DOOM AND GLOOM and all that end times antichrist defeatism nonsense about some remnant in the exclusion of everybody else so we can rapture out of here and escape our responsibility to be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, and have KINGDOM dominion over all the face of the earth.

The best way to be an apostle who will not cater to either extreme as a people pleaser is to be a slave and servant ONLY to Christ. Jesus proved He did not side with Jews, Gentiles, men or women, or even His own apostles’ verses the Pharisees. He came to represent GOD and side with His Father.

They said about Jesus’ and His Teaching of the Gospel …

“And they asked Him, saying, Master, we know that Thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest Thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly.” (Luke 20:21, KJV).

Here are a few other translations:

“So the spies questioned Jesus. ‘Teacher,’ they said, ‘WE KNOW that You speak and teach what is right. WE KNOW You don’t favor one person over another. You teach they Way of God TRUTHFULLY.'” (Luke 20:21, New International Reader’s Version Kids’ Devotional Bible).

“So they asked Him, “Teacher, we know that You’re honest and straightforward when You teach, that You don’t pander to anyone but teach the way of God accurately.” (Luke 20:21, The Message).

“They asked Him, “Teacher, we know that You speak and teach correctly, and that You show no partiality to anyone, but teach the way of God truthfully.” (Luke 20:21, Amplified).

Don’t play sides with your favorite group and cliques of Christians at the expense of others. As John Maxwell says in his Maxwell Leadership Bible,

“One man standing alone with God is the majority!”

I love all the people of God. I can be easily tempted to teach the truth from the perspectives or side with who I could easily identify with, relate to, or have the most affinity with below such as:

  • African American People
  • African American MEN ONLY
  • Apostles and Apostolic People
  • My own Ministry Team
  • My Local Church
  • My City Church
  • Ex Prisoners
  • Military Veterans, especially those who are/were US Army
  • Those who are Hip-Hop artists (both secular and Christian)
  • My own family
  • My doctrinal/religious background from childhood (Southern Baptist)
  • My doctrinal/religious background from adulthood (Seventh Day Adventist)
  • My personal blog readers/audience
  • My target markets in my business; those I sell books to. I could tickle their ears for the money.
  • The Mainstream and Popular Kingdom leaders I know (just to fit in to the ‘inner circle’ or ‘round table’)
  • My Kingdom Driven Entrepreneurs

I don’t side with any of these groups even though I come from and relate to these people. At the expense of these groups and friendships and fellowships I will flip tables, let them yell “CRUCIFY HIM!” and then die on a Cross.

I’m not listening for the words, “Well done though faithful servant”. I am listening for the THESE words,

“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, AND HAST KEPT MY WORD, AND HAST NOT DENIES MY NAME [<– I cater to NO group but teach (STEWARD PEARLS) TRUTH (the Person of Christ) to the best of my God-given ability, anointing, and unction to function to all of these groups AS THEY ARE ABLE TO BEAR IT)]. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I HAVE LOVED THEE. BECAUSE THOU HAST KEPT THE WORD OF MY PATIENCE, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I WILL WRITE UPON HIM MY NEW NAME [That NEW name is called the WORD OF GOD—see Rev. 19:12-16].” (Revelation 3:8-12).

So WHY preach another Gospel or tickle your ears or water down the Word and sell it cheap in books? Why hold back TRUTH that is profitable to YOU (Acts 20:20)? That doesn’t benefit ANYONE, especially when the Word of God is given to,

“… build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32).

It’s GOOD treasure!

Scriptures that the Gospel of the KINGDOM IS the Message we Preach

“The law and the prophets were until John [only Old Testament scriptures had been preached previously]: since that [Old Testament] time THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS PREACHED, and every man presses into it.” (Luke 16:16).

In Acts 8:12, the Evangelist & Deacon Philip also preached both of these same teachings:

“But when they believed Philip … concerning the kingdom of God, AND the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.”

We see that Philip not only preached the kingdom of God, but he also differentiated it from the teaching about Christ. Remember, the messenger is not the message.

“Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.” (Acts 20:21-25).

“And when they had appointed him [Paul] a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, [AND he expounded and testified] persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses [Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy], and out of the prophets [Joshua to Malachi], from morning till evening. And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, preaching the kingdom of God, AND teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Acts 28:23, 30-31).

“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, ‘Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand’.” (Matthew 4:17).

Did anyone know what Jesus was talking about? No. Did anyone know what “repent” really meant? No. Did anyone have even a clue as to what Jesus meant by “The Kingdom of Heaven?” No. The Kingdom of Heaven was the gospel that Jesus preached. But did anyone really know what it was? How many even today know what “the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven really is? Do you know? Could you teach a class on exactly what the Kingdom of Heaven really is?

One will never know what Jesus preached until they understand how Jesus preached.

We assume wrongly. Jesus tells us EXACTLY what happens WHEN the everyone in the world has heard the gospel of the Kingdom.

And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples [Peter, John, James, & Andrew] came unto Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be THE SIGN OF THY COMING, AND OF THE END OF THE WORLD? And ye [all of you] shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye [all of you] be not troubled: for ALL these things must come to pass, but THE END IS NOT YET. All these ARE THE BEGINNING of sorrows. But he that shall ENDURE UNTO THE END, THE SAME SHALL BE SAVED. AND THIS GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM SHALL BE PREACHED IN ALL THE WORLD FOR A WITNESS UNTO ALL NATIONS; THEN SHALL THE END COME. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s [the BODY OF CHRIST] sake those days shall be shortened. [After EVERYONE has heard the Gospel of the Kingdom THEN …] For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of [JESUS] the Son of man be. And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see [JESUS] the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:3, 6, 8, 13-14, 22, 27, 30).

According to the Words of Jesus, when the whole world has heard the Gospel THEN Jesus will appear soon after. It is quite obvious that Jesus is not hear. Therefore there is still work for the church to do. There is still work for the evangelist to do.

What did Jesus preach? He went out and preached, proclaimed, was a herald. He said,

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; as it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send My messenger [John the Baptist] before Thy [Jesus’] face, which shall prepare Thy way before Thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye [all of you] the way of the Lord [Jesus], make his paths straight. Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand [near]: repent ye [ALL OF YOU], and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:1-3 & 14-15).

“Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.” (Matthew 4:23).

“He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of His disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coast of Tyre and Sidon, who had come to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by evil spirits were cured, and the people all tried to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and healing them all. Looking at His disciples, He said: Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God …” (Luke 6:17-20).

Jesus method was to go to a town and pray for someone who was sick. When a crowd gathered to see what had happened, He would preach His message. The healing confirmed Jesus’ message by demonstrating the power and compassion of God. When they saw the sick being healed, His listeners could not deny the reality of God or His mercy in Jesus.

Jesus gave the same commission to His disciples.

“When Jesus had called the Twelve together, He gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:1, 2).

“As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:7,8).

The pattern is receiving authority, preaching the gospel, healing the sick.

We have the same authority to preach the gospel and to heal the sick.
