Five Lessons from the Salutation of Paul

“I, Paul, and my companions in faith here, send greetings to the Galatian churches. My authority for writing to you does not come from any popular vote of the people, nor does it come through the appointment of some human higher-up. It comes directly from Jesus the Messiah and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead. I’m God-commissioned. So I greet you with the great words, grace and peace! We know the meaning of those words because Jesus Christ rescued us from this evil world we’re in by offering Himself as a sacrifice for our sins. God’s plan is that we all experience that rescue. Glory to God forever! Oh, yes!” (Galatians 1:1-5, The Message).

Welcome back to Ricardo Equips Apostolic Leaders! I’ve been out of ministry for about 9 or 10 months. So I come back with a lesson that we apostolic people can learn.

This is a much reminded lesson for me as I was unsure of my apostolic call and in a 40 week wilderness experience.

Here are five things that I learned about the apostolic from the salutation of Paul to the Churches of Galatia.

[1] You are an Apostle not of men, neither by man but by Jesus Christ and God the Father:

“Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)” (v. 1, KJV).

Your calling as an apostle is not man-made or self made or self appointed nor does it come through democratic (mob rule) votes. You are sent and set in the Church by God the Father, given to the Body by Jesus Christ, and anointed by the Holy Spirit for the work of God to the churches in your measure of rule (sphere or circle of influence).

[2] You Will ALWAYS Function on an Apostolic Team when Ministering to the Local Churches in a City or Region:

“And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia.” (v. 2, KJV).

Who is with you when God sends you? Jesus always sent out by at least two. Iron sharpens iron as you hold each other accountable and truth is established and confirmed by the mouth of two or three witnesses before those who you are sent to in your sphere of influence.

[3] You & Your Team are Representing the Father, Christ and the Kingdom to the Church:

“Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ.” (v. 3, KJV).

You are bringing something good to God’s people during your first encounter or re-encounter with them. Paul brought grace and peace to God’s people in Galatia. If you are not bringing a something from the Father and Christ it’s a good possibility you “went” in your own strength instead of being “sent” in the authority of God.

[4] You will Always Lead and Start with Hope to God’s People:

“Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father.” (v. 4, KJV).

Paul started his message with hope of being delivered from this present evil world and that Christ gave Himself for our sins. What hope are you bringing before you decree the beginning of your message?

[5] You will Lead them into Worship with the Father:

“To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (v. 5, KJV).

Bringing God’s people together by the example of your worship is inspiring and uplifting to the spirit and soul of those who have been downtrodden. And for those who are not down an out, celebrating together of who God is and what is has done, did, doing, and will continue to do until He completes His task of conforming us into the image of Himself—Christ in us all, the hope of glory!

May the blessings of the KINGDOM of the Father come upon you and your family 30fold, 60fold, 100fold, and even a double portion, which would be 200fold in Jesus’ name by the power of the Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ WHO IS THE SAVIOR OF THE WHOLE WORLD! Amen!
